Mentoring Philosophy
My primary goal in mentoring is to foster confidence and independence in my mentees such that they feel comfortable working in this lab and transitioning to others. By being independent the can efficiently use their time and my time and more important will have a sense of ownership in the project.
A good fit between the mentee, mentor and project is very important to ultimate success. I will strive to keep constructive lines of communication and by sensitive to the mentees desires. I expect the mentee to be open and honest. I also want to see a genuine interest in the project and out results and will seek to foster this by also being fro questions and being patient and thorough in answering them.
I look and the mentee-mentor relationship as a collaboration working together for success
